How to Become a Google Forms Girly
How to Become a Google Forms Girly
As I have mentioned many times before, I love all Google Drive has to offer! I used to use it for work a lot before we made the switch to Microsoft. But, I still use Google in my personal life. I chose to make my little lesson plan for teens because I remember having to make lots of surveys in high school and undergrad for all sorts of projects. I think Google is a fabulous tool to have under your belt and this could even be used in a fun way like to RSVP for parties, etc.
At work, I plan a lot of storytimes, craft projects, and food programs so I felt a little out of place doing something more tech-like. I think this was fun to kind of create something around a platform I am familiar with, and kind of made me feel a little more confident in maybe doing some more tech programs!
Here is what I am thinking on my program:
How to Become a Google Forms Girly
Audience: Library Teens Making a Survey
Learning Outcomes: Learn how to create a Google Forms survey with different question formats, add media, and explain how to find the Form’s data and how to read it.
Sequence of Activity:
Being with a tutorial
How to create the form Demo
Give it a title and description
Showcase which options are available for the questions (short answer, paragraph answer, multiple choice, checkbox, dropdown, etc.)
Input random questions so they can see the way it will look
Show how to add media to using a file upload
Go to the Responses page and click the “Link to Sheets” to make a sheet
Have students make their own forms
Recap/ take questions
Time/Materials/Equipment:
This should take about a ten minute demonstration and a twenty minute trail period
A computer and projectors for me to use
Teens could either bring their own device to use or borrow a laptop from the library
Assessment:
I will be looking to see if they have successfully created a form
Used three different types of questions
One question has added media to it
Have them share the responses form with me to know that it has been created
