After watching this A.I. generated Tik Tok with a bunch of bunnies jumping on a trampoline and not knowing it was A.I., I thought it would be fun to try and spot some more A.I. generated materials as well as learn more definitions.
I was honestly so upset because this video looked so real to me! Just shows the power of A.I. and the need to be aware of how its being used and how to spot it. I thought that if I could not tell this was not real, there is no way a teenager could figure that out! So I thought it would be a cool idea to make this into something my teens love: an Escape Room!
Here is a quick breakdown of my plan: Escape A.I.
Escape A.I.
Audience: Teen escape room in the library
Materials: Access to a computer and projector and mini whiteboards/markers to write answers on.
Objective: For teens to get a subtle idea of how to determine what is A.I. and what is real.
Is this A.I.?
Use Educaplay to make a yes or no quiz to determine if pictures are A.I. or real
I made a yes or no quiz that they would have to choose which one thye think is correct
Define A.I.
Use Crossword Labs to learn definitions and terms used in A.I.
Use these words to try and get the true definitions in
Now it’s time to make an escape route
Use Puzzlemaker’s Hidden Message puzzle to create a puzzle with a 5 letter password
This would have more terms and even some examples again of maybe headlines or something they need to use the internet to fact check so this would have more of a hands on learning part than just yes or no or definitions
Did you escape?
Use Make Your Own Wordle to solve the mystery
I thought the best way to start this off would be to have a little "icebreaker" that would be easy enough for teens to recoginze simple pirctures. Give it a try here!
I think this is such a fun way to incorporate some relevant infromation to teens in the library, without bombaring them with lessons, but also raise awareness and teach them good ways to spot what they feel is real and fake.
